Special Court has accepted SPAK’s request, signing the arrest warrant against former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj.

Special Court has accepted SPAK’s request, signing the arrest warrant against former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj.

The arrest warrant comes as a result of the investigations that SPAK has carried out in a frame of the proceeding 277/1, part of the investigation of the Elbasan incinerator. He is accused of money laundering, passive corruption and non-declaration of assets.

Along with Ahmetaj, the judge has also signed several other measures for businessmen or persons who are suspected of being involved in money laundering and corruption.

According to the sources, it is learned that 3 of the businessmen who sold the villas and carried out the works in the villas in Palase and Hamallaj, have left Albania and the measures against them have not been executed.

However, it is not known how many measures have been executed so far. SPAK is expected to issue an official announcement regarding this matter soon.
