The head of the SP parliamentary group in power, Taulant Balla, was sworn in today as the Minister of the Interior to President Bajram Begaj, who along with the Speaker of the Assembly Lindita Nikolla, Vice President Ermonela Felaj, Minister Milva Ekonomi, and other close colleagues, gave him congratulations for the task.
In addition to the close staff with whom he worked as the chairman of the socialist parliamentary group, Balla met with the leading heads of the state police with whom he must fulfill the planned expectations for public order.
The ministry is expected to investigate many serious criminal events, including the terrorist attack on Top Channel on March 27, where an employee lost his life.
Taulant Balla, in these 10 years of SP government, is the fifth minister after Saimir Tahir, Fatmir Xhafaj, Sandër Lleshaj and Bledi Cuci, who is entrusted with the direction of one of the most delicate and problematic ministries, from which much order and public safety is expected.
His predecessor, Cuci, was dismissed after the publication of footage of the brutal beating of residents who were complaininf for damage to their homes, by the owners of a quarry near them, owned by the relatives of a SP politician.
